Mission

New privacy laws and the regulators enforcing them are asking more of the digital advertising industry than ever before. Limited tools exist to meet the scope of the diligence and accountability challenges ahead; and many industry participants are pining for some guidance about how to implement privacy rights utilizing different vendor tools. The Privacy Implementation & Accountability Task Force (PIAT) is a joint effort between the IAB Tech Lab and IAB’s Legal Affairs Council. The task force will bring together leading privacy technology vendors, media companies, advertisers and the supporting adtech ecosystem to create shared understandings, define best practices, and encourage innovation around privacy-related accountability and implementation.

The Privacy Implementation & Accountability Task Force is currently accepting new members. The task force is divided into two groups working on distinct initiatives concurrently; one focused on due diligence and the other focused on a privacy taxonomy.
